The residents who live on Jalan Kerja Bakti, RT 10/05, Kampung Makasar Urban Village, Makasar Sub-District, East Jakarta, are hoping related unit to immediately build a drain in their neighborhood. This is because the area is often flooded during rainy season.

“Since the road is elevated for 30 centimeters high and there is no drain, rainwater often inundates our houses. We hope the drain could be built soon in this area,” said Sarmili (40), chief of RT 10/05 Kampung Makasar, Thursday (12/11).

Responding on this matter, Head of Makasar Sub-District, Ari Sonjaya, told that his party has received information on East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department’s plan to build drain on Jalan Kerja Bakti soon.

“The drain will be built after the road elevation project finished. Thus, the project would not be disturbed,” he stated.

The road elevation project itself has reached 80 percent completion. The road that being elevated has a length of 300 meters and width 8 meters.
